Find Blind Cricket New South Wales with Directions
Travelling to Blind Cricket New South Wales's home ground at Henley Park, Mitchell Street, Enfield.
The STA (State Transit Authority) operate the 400 and Metro (number 41) buses every 20 minutes past the corner of Burwood Road and Mitchell Street. The 400 bus is blue and white whilst the metro bus is red.
Travelling from Burwood Station
One turn left as you walk out of the station Entrance.
Cross the first street that you come across (this street has traffic lights) and continue straight to the bus stop and board the 400 bus. Tell the driver you wish to alight opposite the corner of Burwood Road and Mitchell Street.
Walk about 30 Metres south, down to the set of traffic lights. Cross Burwood Road and continue west down Mitchell Street. Note that cane users can follow a concrete shoreline on Mitchell Street.
Travelling from Bexley North, Campsie or other Destinations south of Enfield
Tell the driver you wish to alight on the corner of Burwood Road and Mitchell Street. From the bus stop, turn left and follow the path 20 metres downhill until you reach Mitchell Street.
Turn right and walk about 50 metres west until you can see a big electrical power box (totally blind people - you can find this box by listening for a soft and low pitched humming sound). This is the southern Entrance to Henley Park.
Turn right onto the path about 5 metres after the power box. Note: there are trees between the power box and the path.
Follow this path (which is also a council bike path) north for 130 metres until you can see a narrower concrete path leading off to the right, up to the club house.
Totally blind? Walk along the bike path and keep your cane on your right hand side until you feel a small slab of concrete. Note this path is narrow so you might miss it with your cane.
Turn to your right and walk up the path and you have arrived at the home of Blind Cricket New South Wales.
Travelling from Strathfield
Alight from your train and walk to the platform 8 side (the south side of Strathfield station). Walk up the ramp to your left and the taxi rank is on your immediate right. Find a cab and asked to be dropped at the Baker Street entrance of Vision Australia. Note this trip with a docket shouldn't cost more than $5.
Once at Baker Street, follow the bike pathway about 25 metres until you see the concrete path sloping up on the left hand side. (Cane users, keep your cane to the left of the path and when you find the slab of concrete, turn immediately to your left).
Finally, walk up the path and you have arrived at the home of Blind Cricket New South Wales.
