Australia missed out on a spot in the final of the inaugural World Cup as we were defeated by 8 runs. Pakistan scored 342 for 6 in and in reply Australia scored 335 for 5 after the allotted 40 over which is the maximum per inning in our World Cup, this is simular to the normal one day World Cup competition (50 over).

Australia is one of the favourites to win the Second World Cup of Blind Cricket based on previous performances and the strength and the blending of youth and experience of the current Australian team.

Australia is currently preparing in a bid to conduct the Third World Cup of Blind Cricket to be held in Sydney in 2006/2007. NSW will be host to 27th Australian National Championships for Blind Cricket also to be held in Sydney in 2003/2004.
